NO WAY HOME: 5 Take Aways From The Second Trailer

Spider-Man No Way Home Trailer

The long awaited second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home just released and WOW! There was so much new footage that wasn’t in the first one so this definitely will hold us over until the December 17th release date. A special fan screening was held at a theater in LA and Tom Holland was the surprise guest. This led us to believe that it wouldn’t be just an extended version of the first trailer. Let’s jump into 5 things that we were geeked to see!

Seems Like There Will Be a Character Death

Although there aren’t direct giveaways that we could be losing any characters, the opening scene said otherwise. The trailer starts with Parker crying in the rain in a very pensive manner, almost looking like something tragic happened. This is a personal guess, but I have a feeling he loses either MJ, Aunt May, or both. There’s so much chaos going on and with 5, potentially 6, villains going after him at once, there’s not much good that can come from that. I won’t touch on this too much as it is solely something I gathered from the tone of what we saw take place. Hope I’m wrong though.

Mary Jane Channels THAT Gwen Stacey Scene

Gwen Stacey Mary Jane

As soon as we saw Zendaya‘s Mary Jane fall, fans everywhere were triggered to say the least. It instantly brought back the memory of when Gwen Stacey, played by Emma Stone, fell to her death in The Amazing Spiderman 2. During this moment, a hand in a Spider-Man suit is seen reaching out for MJ. The internet speculating that the person reaching for her isn’t Holland, but is possibly Garfield’s character. This would make sense and I’m totally on board with that idea. We’ll revisit this article when the film releases because how epic would that be if it indeed turned out to be true?

Doc Ock Siding with Spider-Man?

Doc Ock in No Way Home

It’s hard to believe that Doc Ock would be siding with Peter Parker since he despises him so much. However, it’s Tobey Maguire‘s character that he doesn’t care for, not Holland. So everything should be good between these two, no? In this trailer, we see Doc Ock discover that the kid under mask isn’t who he thought it was and is rather confused. With that being said, we see MJ, Ned, and Peter speaking with Octavius in an unknown location but definitely a friendly manner. This leads viewers to think maybe Doc Ock would be assisting Holland’s Parker in fighting off the other villains. In a normal world, this would be crazy, but this is the multiverse where anything is possible and only time will tell.

The Sinister 6 is Forming Before Our Eyes

Sinister 6 No Way Home

We were already aware that many villains would appear in No Way Home and this trailer further solidifies it. Alfred Molina‘s Doc Ock is front and center and we finally get to see Lizard and Sandman in action. Jamie Foxx is back as Electro, this time donning the yellow bolts. Willem Dafoe‘s voice can be heard as he flies around on the infamous glider but we haven’t a gotten glimpse of his face just yet.

While the final member of the Sinister 6 could be several villains (Rhino, Vulture or Kraven), we have not gotten any proof of who it might be. Michael Keaton played Vulture in Holland’s Homecoming, while we got a short sequence with Rhino, played by Paul Giamatti, in Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Most recently, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was cast as Kraven the Hunter so there’s a chance they might want to introduce him in a big way.

No Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, or Charlie Cox

Leaked photos of Andrew Garfield in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'

Truthfully, this is something I was just SO SURE we’d see. With all the hype, I was very much under the impression that Marvel was going to let the cat out the bag and give the people what they want. With many leaks and rumors that have made their way around the web (haha), it wouldn’t have been a bad idea to confirm the presence of Andrew Garfield, Charlie Cox, and Tobey Maguire. But we didn’t get that and fans have taken to social media to express their frustration. Regardless if they made an appearance in the trailer or not, everyone should relax because in no world would we get a multiverse that didn’t involve these three. So I guess what I’m saying is….. we all know they’re in the film so let’s just chill out.
