As if this wasn’t already expected, No Way Home is making history yet again. The Blockbuster movie is rapidly approaching the $1 billion mark at the global box office, with all signs pointing to it happening on Christmas Day. The third installment of the Tom Holland-led franchise is now 2021’s top-grossing film worldwide, as it just passed two Chinese releases.
Once this milestone is reached, it would become the second-fastest movie to hit that mark, only behind Avengers: Endgame. This would thus tie NWH with another product from the MCU, Avengers: Infinity War. Seems there’s a running theme here: Marvel Studios knows what it takes to shatter records.
Achieving this accomplishment is remarkable but during a pandemic? That’s amazing, Spider-Man! (too cheesy.) NWH was set to be Holland’s final film as the web-slinging hero. Due to the massive success, the actor was offered a contract extension that spans over 3 more films. We are very curious as to where this new journey could take his character, seeing how this was a good way to conclude his story.
