It’s been a little over a year since we got the epic multiverse gem known as Spider-Man: No Way Home. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting more crossover films of its kind. On February 28th, Titan Books is releasing Spider-Man No Way Home: The Official Movie Special for fans to go deeper into the making of the film. We get to hear from Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, Zendaya, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Marvel featured a few excerpts on their site where Maguire spoke on whether he would continue to appear in future Spidey films.
“I love these films and I love all of the different series. If these guys called me and said, “Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?” or “Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?”, it would be a “yes!” Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?”
It’s safe to state that Maguire’s appearance in No Way Home was more than a cameo, it was a treat for the OG fans of the films. Coming from someone who grew up during the introduction of superhero flicks, this was nothing short of nostalgic. I must admit, it really would have been nice to have seen Kristen Dunst reprise her role of Mary Jane. And while we’re at it, they could have thrown in Shailene Woodley, whom we all know was cast and had filmed to play opposite Garfield’s Peter Parker.
Nonetheless, although it won’t be a surprise anymore if Maguire and Garfield return, the character arc for both leave a lot of possible stories to tell. Only time will tell which direction Kevin Feige and his team will decide to take, but we can guarantee that more box office records will be broken.
