Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal Compete for Dakota Johnson’s Heart in ‘Materialists’ Trailer

We’re all guilty of being somewhat jealous that Dakota Johnson has both Chris Evans AND Pedro Pascal fighting for her heart in Materialists. The A24 romantic flick from director and writer Celine Song hits theaters just in time for the summer with a June 13th release date.

The trailer released today and you can feel the tension and the tug of war that we are in for. The characters are so likable that this will without a doubt be such an internal battle for who we will side with. It doesn’t look cheesy at all, which is why I think it has a solid chance at being one of the best non-superhero films this summer.

The age of rom coms and chick flicks has slowly died over the past decade, but Materialists hits us right in the feels, with the potential to revive the beloved genre. Lucy (Johnson) plays a matchmaker that finds herself in a bind when she meets Pascal shortly before she runs into her ex, played by Evans.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Evans in a romantic film (my personal favorite is What’s Your Number?) and I can’t recall a recent one that featured Pascal so this is shaping up to be quite a delight. A24 does not miss with their solid track record of successful films as of late. Check out the newly released trailer below!
