‘After All’: Brainstorm Media Releases a Powerful Story of Family, Forgiveness, and Healing

A heartfelt new drama is set to release this fall for us to possibly sob over. After All, directed by Kerstin Karlhuber and written by Jack Bryant, will open in select theaters nationwide on October 17, 2025, followed by an on-demand release on November 7, 2025. The film explores the complex bonds between mothers and daughters, love and loss, and the power of second chances.

After All follows Ellen (Erika Christensen) as she returns to her hometown to care for her ailing mother (Penelope Ann Miller) and reconnect with her estranged teenage daughter (Kiara Muhammad). What begins as a reluctant reunion soon uncovers hidden secrets that have shaped their lives in painful ways. As three generations of women confront the past, they must decide whether forgiveness and healing are possible — not just for each other, but for themselves.

After All taps a talented cast, including Zach Gilford, Mike O’Malley, and David James Elliot and is produced by Dale Wade Davis, Christian Sosa, Tom Malloy, and Joanne Zippel.

Known for her intricate storytelling, Karlhuber’s directing crafts a quiet yet powerful portrait of family at a crossroads. Jack Bryant’s screenplay balances emotional honesty with hope, inviting viewers to reflect on their own relationships and the importance of reconciliation.

After All is a film about the fragile but unbreakable ties that bind families together,” says Karlhuber. “It’s about confronting the pain of the past to make space for love in the present.”

The movie promises to be an unforgettable cinematic journey — one that lingers long after the credits roll.

I'm a big movie buff that also loves NFL football. Interviewing talent associated with films is one of my favorite things to do as there is nothing more special then diving into a project with the people who made them happen.
