Sony’s Presentation at CinemaCon 2025

CinemaCon 2025 is officially underway and boy did we get started with some awesome reveals! This year’s line-up includes 7 presentations as opposed to how 2024 only included 5. We’re getting presentations from Warner Bros, Sony, Lionsgate, Disney, Paramount, Amazon MGM, and Universal.

First up is Sony and they gave us some updates on a few projects such as The Legend of Zelda and Resident Evil,  as well as some first looks at footage and trailers. Here’s a recap of some of the highlights!

28 Years Later – Danny Boyle

28 Years Later:' Release Date, Cast, Plot, Trailer and News

While we got a full trailer a few months ago, this new look gives a better look at what to expect including a closer look at Ralph Fiennes character. The third installment will be released on June 20th, 2025. In addition to that, we were surprised with the announcement of the follow-up, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, set to be directed by Nia Dacosta!

Caught Stealing – Darren Aronofsky

Caught Stealing: Everything about the film - Pubity

Austin Butler and Zoe Kravitz star in a fun action flick that follows a bartender that once led a promising life but has it all fall apart when he makes a huge mistake. Regina King, Liev Schreiber, and Bad Bunny also star. The trailer looks and is quite refreshing to see Butler get a more diverse and fun role.

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey – Kogonada

Jillian on X: "Excited to hear Kogonada's Big Bold Beautiful Journey starring Margot Robbie & Colin Farrell described as a “futuristic love story”🌎 https://t.co/NqtvDYQWmG" / X

This is the film that caught my attention because Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell are two actors I didn’t picture together, but their chemistry worked. The film follows two strangers who cross paths and opt to go out on a whim to take a journey together. The tone is very romantic with the opportunity to have a deeper story within as the characters are propelled back to some of their good and bad memories. A Big Bold Beautiful Journey will make its way to theaters on September 19th, 2025.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day – Deston Daniel Cretton

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Title Officially Confirmed

We knew an announcement surrounding the next Spider-Man was coming, but we didn’t know whether it would be during Sony’s panel or Disney’s on Thursday. We got a video message from Tom Holland introducing the film’s official title: Spider-Man: Brand New Day. That’s all we got, but that’s enough for fans as everyone now has the source material that they might want to brush up on.

Beatles x 4 – Sam Mendes

The Beatles Movie Cast Confirmed, For April 2028 Release

Every presentation ends with a bang, and this one is no exception. Sony ended their slate with the announcement of not just one, but FOUR Beatles biopics, one from each perspective of the members of the band. To take it up a notch, all 4 will be released in theaters in April 2028, blowing the minds of everyone in the audience. To add the cherry on top, we got the official announcement of who was cast in each role: Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. The release of these titles will be record-breaking as nothing like this has ever been done. This might also pave the way for how future biopics are done when it comes to band members as it gives the opportunity to see things from different perspectives.

I'm a big movie buff that also loves NFL football. Interviewing talent associated with films is one of my favorite things to do as there is nothing more special then diving into a project with the people who made them happen.
