In a shocker to no one, Apple TV has officially renewed its Emmy Award–nominated comedy Shrinking for a fourth season. The streaming platform is rightfully showing a lot of confidence in the hit series ahead of the highly anticipated season three premiere on January 28. The early renewal signals the continued success of the show, which has earned widespread acclaim for its heartfelt storytelling, sharp humor, and standout performances.
With a slate of heavy-hitting creators like Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, and Jason Segel, Shrinking stars Segel as Jimmy, a grieving therapist who begins to kick the typical professional boundaries and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. His unconventional approach leads to dramatic and often unexpected changes in his patients’ lives (and his own), blending emotional honesty with laugh-out-loud comedy. The series also stars multi-award-winning Harrison Ford, whose performance has been widely praised as a career highlight.
Season three, now streaming on Apple TV, brings back the show’s beloved ensemble cast, including Christa Miller, Emmy nominee Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Emmy nominee Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley. New episodes will roll out weekly every Wednesday through April 8, 2026.
The upcoming season also boasts an impressive roster of guest stars. Returning favorites Brett Goldstein, Damon Wayans Jr., Wendie Malick, and Cobie Smulders are joined by new additions Jeff Daniels, Michael J. Fox, Candice Bergen, Sherry Cola, and Isabella Gomez, further expanding the show’s already rich ensemble.

Shrinking is executive produced by Lawrence, Segel, and Goldstein alongside Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Randall Winston, Rachna Fruchbom, Brian Gallivan, Ashley Nicole Black, and Bill Posley. Lawrence and Goldstein also produce through their respective overall deals with Warner Bros. Television and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions.
Since its debut, the series has been hailed as “one of TV’s best-written comedies,” earning multiple Primetime Emmy nominations and a Critics’ Choice Award win for Michael Urie’s performance in season two. The series marks Apple TV’s third collaboration with Lawrence and Warner Bros. Television, following the global phenomenon Ted Lasso and the comedy Bad Monkey. It also continues Apple’s creative partnership with Goldstein and Segel across film and television projects.
With its early season four renewal, Shrinking cements its place as one of Apple TV’s most beloved and consistently acclaimed comedies. I personally have raved that Apple does not miss when it comes to their TV and films; everything they put out is nothing short of entertaining.
Season 3 of Shrinking Streams on Apple TV January 28th.

I'm a big movie buff that also loves NFL football. Interviewing talent associated with films is one of my favorite things to do as there is nothing more special then diving into a project with the people who made them happen.
