Ted Lasso Season 4 Premiere Date Confirmed: Everything We Know

Apple TV set August 5 as the Ted Lasso Season 4 premiere date. Here is everything you need to know about the new season, the cast, and the first teaser.

Three years after Ted Lasso wrapped what we all thought was the final whistle, AFC Richmond is back on the pitch.

Apple TV confirmed Tuesday that Ted Lasso Season 4 premieres Wednesday, August 5, 2026, ending a long stretch of cryptic teases and “is it actually happening” rumors. The streamer also released a brief first teaser featuring Jason Sudeikis back in the mustache, the whistle, and that very specific brand of relentless optimism that turned a soccer comedy into one of the defining shows of the streaming era.

When does Ted Lasso Season 4 premiere

Ted Lasso Season 4 hits Apple TV on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Apple has not officially confirmed the episode count or rollout cadence, but the show’s previous seasons released weekly, and there is no indication that pattern is changing.

Expect the season to land roughly through fall, with the finale falling somewhere between mid-October and early November depending on episode count.

The teaser is short, deliberately so. It opens on Ted in a familiar press conference setup, gives us a beat of his trademark grin, and ends on a single line that hints at where the new season is going emotionally. Apple is clearly playing the long game on marketing here. Expect a longer trailer to drop in late June or early July, with the press cycle ramping in mid-July.

What the teaser confirms is that the tonal DNA of the show has not been retooled. Ted is still Ted. The show is not pivoting into prestige drama or a darker mode. That will calm fans who worried the long break would result in a different show.

Sudeikis is confirmed back as both star and executive producer. Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, and Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt are all expected to return based on early production reporting. Tanya Reynolds is also confirmed in the teaser, which has the fan community speculating about which of the rumored new arcs she is involved in.

Apple has not announced new cast additions yet, but the show typically holds those reveals until closer to release. Expect at least one or two notable guest stars or new series regulars to be announced over the summer.

Ted Lasso' Season Four Confirmed With Jason Sudeikis

Specific plot details are tightly under wraps, but the show’s creative team has been transparent in past interviews that any return would need a real reason to exist, not just a victory lap. The hints from the teaser and the show’s previous finale point toward a new chapter for AFC Richmond rather than a reset to the original status quo. That likely means a new managerial role for Ted, evolved storylines for Roy, Keeley, and Rebecca, and probably the introduction of a new generation of players.

Ted Lasso was Apple TV’s first true cultural-conversation hit, the show that proved the platform could compete on prestige comedy. In the years since the show wrapped, Apple has built a strong drama lineup but has not produced another comedy that crossed over the same way. Bringing Ted back is a swing for that same energy, and it lands at a moment when Apple genuinely needs a tentpole win.

If Season 4 sticks the landing, Apple TV gets a reliable awards player and a global anchor through the fall. If it does not, the legacy of the original three seasons takes a hit. The stakes are real on both sides.
